The NFL draft has just concluded with the Southeastern Conference having 65 athletes entering the draft. Georgia has 15 players entering the draft, setting a new selection record.

The conference produced the most draft picks for the 16th consecutive year with a total of 65 players taken, including 34 of the 105 players selected in the first three rounds. Landing in second place was the Big Ten, which produced 48 total draft picks with 21 coming in the first three rounds.

“The draft this year was nuts, there was so much drama”, senior, Will Swain, said,

“Tons of my favorite players got into the draft this year. The Bulldogs had so many players declare they were going into the draft since they won the championship this season. I’m excited to see where they end up for their career in the NFL,” junior, Whitney Hoopes, said.

This is very impressive and likely won’t happen again, but who is to say it won’t happen next year. Georgia set a modern record for most players picked from a single school in one NFL Draft, as 15 Bulldogs were taken among the 262 players selected this weekend. The record-setting haul for UGA broke the previous best of 14 players set by Ohio State in 2004 and matched by LSU in 2020. The huge weekend for the Bulldogs underscored yet another big draft for the SEC as a whole.
