The Story Of Frankenstein Finale

Mayli Winter, Reporter

Last week the Monster, that Frankenstein had created, had just told his side of the story. While Victor Frankenstein was sick at school, the Monster was busy learning to speak, read, and started looking for Frankenstein. Now, both sides come together.

When the Monster is done telling his story, he asks Frankenstein to make him a female monster, so he won’t be so lonely. He promises to leave to South America with the female and leave Frankenstein alone if he does so. Frankenstein goes back home and starts on another monster. But then he is disgusted by what he’s doing and destroys the nearly finished creation. The Monster is enraged and tells Frankenstein that he will be with him on his wedding night, which is supposed to happen in a few days’ time. That night, Frankenstein goes to the middle of a lake and dumps the remains of the female creature into the water. He’s so exhausted that he falls asleep in the boat. When he wakes, he’s back to shore and is being arrested for murder. He finds that it was his best friend Henry that has been murdered. Devastated, Frankenstein spends some time in jail until he is proven innocent. After he gets out of jail, he heads back to his childhood home to marry Elizabeth. After they marry, Frankenstein leaves Elizabeth on their wedding night to be look out for the Monster. Frankenstein is sure that the Monster is coming to kill him. But soon after, he hears Elizabeth’s screams. As he runs back into the house, Elizabeth is dead. Killed by the Monster.

Victor Frankenstein vows to find his Monster and end this once and for all. Frankenstein follows the monster Northward for many weeks. At one point, Frankenstein is so close behind the Monster, chasing him on a dog sled. But a big piece of ice breaks in front of him and the monster gets away. Later, a young captain finds Frankenstein, nearly frozen to death. He takes Victor to his ship, where he learns the story. Once Frankenstein finishes the story of his Monster, he dies. The men on the ship are astonished by the story when Frankenstein’s Monster boards the ship. The Monster is so devised that his creator has died and didn’t mean to be the Monster everyone saw him as. He tells the men and captain that since his creator is now dead, so can he die. The Monster leaves further up North, to die by himself.

And that’s the story of Frankenstein and his monster. Not what you were expecting? Many literature scholars wonder whether Frankenstein’s Monster is really a monster, or if he is just a lonely man. When Frankenstein was first published, it was considered the most horrific novel of its time. But today, we have scarier things. And that’s the end of Frankenstein, Happy Halloween!
