The Christmas season is finally here! That means, families are putting up their Christmas trees, neighborhoods are full of houses with colorful lights, and the radio is finally playing Christmas music. There are many kinds of Christmas movies, from Silent Night to Here comes Santa Clause. Christmas music definitely helps people get into the Christmas feel of love and joy.

“My favorite Christmas song is The Virgin’s Lullaby because it is really beautiful and speaks to why I celebrate Christmas,” a Junior at Farmington, Bryn Farley, said.

The Virgin’s Lullaby was written on December 5th, 2006 for a Christmas video called the Nativity Story. Sung by various artists such as: Natalie Grant, David Phelps, Point of Grace, Michael Farren, Allan Hall, Todd Smith and Mike Weaver. It was also used in this year’s Light the World video done by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

“My favorite song is Jingle Bells by Frank Sinatra. I love Christmas music because of the joy it brings to everybody!” another Junior at Farmington, Ashlyn Ryan, said.

Frank Sinatra was one of the biggest singers in the 20th century. He sang mostly in the Jazz genre but did sing quite a few Christmas songs!

It’s safe to say that Christmas music brings many people joy and happiness during this time of the year. It can inspire people to do good during this time and help others. It can also just make you happy during a time of giving. Christmas music is a big part of the Christmas seasons, just for those reasons.
