Streaming Shenanigans
March 30, 2022
Netflix or Disney Plus, Hulu or HBO Max, maybe even all of the above? How am I supposed to know what to watch, when to watch, and where to watch? These questions are being asked over and over by the students here at Farmington High School. With the plethora of streaming services, it’s become almost impossible to stay up to date on the hottest shows. Each service has one show that no other service has. But which streaming service is the fairest of them all? I asked a few students what their favorite streaming service was, and a favorite show from it.
“Netflix is totally the best streaming service for real for real, because it always has a new series or movie that everyone starts talking about, so you stay up to date. My favorite show is Arcane, and I can’t wait for the new seasons to come out,” senior, Nick Varella, says.
Netflix is known for its vast catalog of shows and its constantly refreshed content. It has new shows basically every day, so you’ll never get bored. It’s also popular because of the big shows that are only featured there such as the Witcher, Stranger Things, and Squid Games.
“Disney Plus is a must-have, with all of Marvel and Star Wars, you just can’t beat it. My favorite show is definitely the Mandalorian. It’s just an epic show with sick shots, awesome fight scenes, and freaking baby Yoda,” senior, Beau Branch, said.
For how new of a streaming service Disney Plus is, it has had tremendous success in the industry. With virtually every Disney movie made on the platform, and hits like the Mandalorian and Loki, it’s a given that it would do well.
In the end, it’s all about what shows you want to watch and how much money you want to spend. Each service has its pros and cons, but it’s for you to decide which one’s best.
