Date Ideas

Lille Udy, Arts and Entertainment Reporter

With the last dance of the school year approaching, people are trying to make this last dance the best one they have had all year. This means planning the perfect day date. The only issue with this is that it is hard to figure out what exactly to do for your day date to blow it out of the park and end the school year on a high note. Movies become hard because you want to get to know your date.

This is the perfect place to be. Here are some excellent date ideas and some Farmington High School students were also interviewed and gave some ideas and suggestions of dates they would go on.

“If somebody texted me and said, let’s go golf, I would go any day,” senior, Abe Ashby, said.

Golf is easy, but the weather can be unpredictable. Therefore, Top Golf is such a good idea. It may be basic, but it is one of the easiest and most entertaining dates. If it is rainy and cold, it is no big deal because you have those heaters all around you and you are covered so you don’t get wet. Not only is this such a simple idea, but it is very reasonable in their pricing. To go up there to put your name on the list and then kill time with dinner, you avoid the expensive reservation fees and save hundreds. The total only comes out to around 30 dollars a couple for the whole night.

“One date I think would be fun is we go to Dutch Bros and then go get In-N-Out and then go to the top of Farmington Canyon and then have a picnic with all of our food,” sophomore, Ellie Cella, said.

If you are in more of a smaller group and can’t split the price of Top Golf, this is the perfect suggestion. Deciding on a drink and food place would make a perfect idea. If you can’t decide where to eat, you can put different places into two hats and then draw one for a drink spot and one for dinner. Next, you can take the food anywhere you want. Whether it’s in a canyon, the park, or in the back of a truck, having a mini picnic makes a great time. You can get to know your date and have a lot of time to have fun and laugh.

There are so many other options for dates this year. The weather is getting warmer, and this means you can come up with so many outdoor ideas like minigolf, scavenger hunts, night swimming, hiking, picnics, and so much more. If the weather doesn’t go according to plan, you can also do an escape room, paintball, Top Golf, bowling, axe throwing, or even just a game night. This is the last dance of the year or even for life for the seniors. Hopefully you can make it the best date ever.
