Everyone likes making money and the students at Farmington High are no exception. While many students work at fast food restaurants or retail shops, some students have started their own small businesses to bring in money during the school year.
One of the most popular business formats is car detailing. Many students have created their own detailing labels offering a variety of services to locals.
“Detailing is a fun and lucrative way to get some cash during the school year.” senior Ezra Moon says.
Car detailing tends to be a common side hustle among the senior boys while the senior girls have pursued some other different business ventures. One of the most unique student businesses is a dog treat business. “I love baking and so I decided to make treats for dogs too!” senior Samantha Sanders says.
Many of us dreamed of being bakers as little kids and Samantha has put a fun twist on that dream.
Both businesses have proved to be rewarding for the students running them and the consumers of their product. Another extremely lucrative business for students is being a nail technician. With a minimum of 4 dances throughout the school year these student nail artists stay booked and busy. “I have always loved doing my own nails so I thought I might as well do others too!” senior Kaitlyn Gray says.
We love seeing Farmington High students being successful and creative. Many of these students hope to carry on their businesses after high school on a much larger scale. We can’t wait to see these students take off with their careers and we are excited to see what new ideas come to Farmington next year.
