With only a few weeks left of the 2024 school year there are several mixed emotions. Some seniors cannot wait for graduation and to be done with high school, while others are so sad to have to grow up. Some students don’t know how to feel about these times. No matter the feeling, we all should be proud of our accomplishments over the past years.
Most seniors here at Farmington High have ‘senioritis.’ Senioritis is the feeling of not being motivated to finish schoolwork, people with senioritis cannot wait to graduate. Senior, Hadley Vance, said “I cannot wait to graduate and get away from this place.” Another senior, Isaac Miller, says “I am so done with high school, after graduation I am burning all my schoolwork and moving away.” Both Hadley and Isaac have a severe case of senioritis.
Lots of people are afraid of change and the unknown. Graduation can come with the fear of not knowing what you’re going to do with your time after your graduation. Some know exactly what college they will attend and what career they will pursue. But those who don’t know the answer to those yet could face some anxiety with the thought of graduating. Senior, Carson Terry talks about how nervous he is about after graduation and what path he is going to take his life on. Aswell as senior, Peyton Cheney, she says “I am anxious about what I’m going to do after graduation, all my friends have a plan, but I don’t have one yet.” Several students are nervous about the unknown after graduation.
Whether you cannot wait to graduate or are stressed out about it, just realize it’ll all be worth it in the end when you receive your diploma. All 13 years of school will have finally paid off and you can now relax. Whatever path you choose to take your life down or career you decide to pursue, know that it’ll all work out. Peace out class of 2024.
