There is a wide variety of classes in Farmington High School for students to choose. With lots of different subjects and requirements many might find it hard to decide on one specific class that they would like to take. In fact, many students decide to take classes that they later find out that they don’t enjoy.
“Cadmec was one of them, it was fun I just wasn’t really into the building aspect of it, but it was fun to just mess around on the computer program… It was fun just messing around with it, but I didn’t like the math aspect of it.” Senior Riley Colvin, said.
Many students also took classes that they found out they really liked. Picking things they had known that they enjoyed before to find more classes that were similar to what they would like. Although the classes people really enjoyed varied, many of the classes were art classes.
“I really enjoy art in general, so I took drawing and painting- drawing last year and painting this year- I quite enjoy both of them because I actually got to create stuff.” Junior Kyra Lamoreaux, said.
They also told me the subject that they enjoy. Though many students don’t love the main subjects, many of them had subjects that they preferred doing, or did not mind doing. While others really enjoyed a specific subject.
“Any of the science classes, I really like science. I like learning about um… I like learning a lot about things, learning about science is like, I get to understand why things happen.” Senior Riley Colvin, said.
Although many classes can be hard for students, some of the students shared with us what aspects of classes helped them and made the class easier. Although there are many different things that could make a class easier like having fewer assignments or taking a class that you enjoy spending time doing, one student pointed out another thing that could make the class easier.
“When you have a good teacher, it makes everything else a lot easier.” Junior Justin Pugmire said.
Last students shared classes that they would recommend to other students who are currently deciding to take.
“Stained glass or jewelry classes um they’re really fun and it’s pretty cheap than if you went to a studio or something, so might as well try it while it’s available and cheap.” Junior Megan Lamoreaux, said.
