Many students at Farmington High School have pets. As I went around many shared the kind of pets that they had had throughout their lives.
“I’ve had a dog named Riley who’s an American Eskimo, I had a parakeet which didn’t really have a name and then I had a dog named Wally and I have a dog named Miko who’s a Maltese yorkie mix.” Sophomore Aubrey Francis, said.
Many had lots of different kinds of pets throughout their lifetime. They shared with me what pet they would ideally choose if given the chance to have it. Many chose their pet based off personal preference on what they enjoyed doing and how much they could take care of a pet with the schedule that they had.
“Definitely a cat, they’re the least maintenance and require very little intervention so I can do whatever I want with my life.” Junior Logan Chase said.
However, this was not the only answer given, in fact many people were split on what the ideal pet would be for them to have. Many of them said dogs while others said cats were better. They told multiple reasons why they thought their pet was better than what others had said.
“A dog because the only other option is a cat and cats are stupid because you think about it and cats, they’re little and they’re mean and they don’t like people, but dogs you can cuddle with a dog and take your dog on a walk.”
After that people shared what pet they would enjoy having that they did not think others liked very much. Students had a harder time answering this because people like all kinds of different pets, however one student came up with this answer.
“The pug, people think that they’re ugly which they’re not, they’re amazing, they’re so cute.” Sophomore Ashley Brisket, said.
Although many people have different preferences on the pets they would choose to have. It all comes down to what they enjoy doing and how they can include their pets in that.
