We’ve all made the dramatic jump from freshman year to sophomore year. Going into high school hoping we’re ready for anything that will be thrown at us. Now that it’s the end of the school year let’s see if the sophomores of FHS were ready for high school. And what was it like for them? ‘
“I feel like I was kinda ready but not fully. I took three AP classes last year which really prepared me for the attention academics in high school need.” Stated sophomore Logan Thurber
For many sophomores like Logan preparing for things such as classes and grades was achievable but preparing for the social aspect of coming into high school is something very hard to attain.
“Going into high school I expected everything to be big and I was excited to be able to connect with more people.” Sophomore Logan Thurber also stated.
Many students were thrilled to come into high school to make a fresh start including Logan. High school offers a fresh start for everyone. This fresh start includes many things. Such as making new friends and surrounding yourself with those who make you feel like your best self, starting over with bad habits relating to school work, and creating new goals for you and your academic grades.
This article is a message to the future sophomores of FHS. Remember that coming into high school can be scary and intimidating but just remind yourself of all the amazing things that come with it. You might never be prepared to come into high school but just come into highschool with your head held high excited for the new path of life you just entered.
Remember you got this and there will be many people you know and will meet along the way that are there to help you. Try your best, remember who you are, and goodluck!
