The story of two Beverly Hills brothers that murdered their parents. Now a new generation is finding out about these two brothers and wanting to know the story. With hundreds of videos posted on Tik Tok leaving the question, do the brothers deserve the life sentence or should they get a retrial?
In August 1989, the two Menendez brothers, Lyle and Erik, Killed their parents in the living room with shotguns. The boys then left to go to the movies so they would have an alibi. They later came home where their parents were still lying there dead, no one even knew besides these two boys. Not knowing what to do Lyle the oldest brother decided he would call the cops and tell them they came home and found their parents laying there.
The cops arrived at the scene saying the killings were very violent, which along with the boys telling them, led them to believe that it was a killing done by the mafia. Lyle and Erik stayed at the house while the cops searched the scene, they had gun powder on their hands and the shotgun ammo in the trunk of their car. The cops didn’t even suspect the boys, they never even checked them. The brothers should have been caught and arrested that night.
After that night the boys left with millions and started their spending spree. Buying cars, watches, and anything they could think of.
But the question is why did the boys do it? These boys grew up with lots of money and a very successful father looking like a very normal family from the outside, but what was really going on? These two boys grew up with a very abusive father, with the time right before the murder leaving the two boys scared for their lives believing their parents wanted to kill them. They bought the shotguns to protect themselves because they did not just want to sit around and wait to be killed. The night the brothers killed their parents they believed their parents were going to kill them that is why they did it.
Do they deserve the life sentence or should the sentence be shortened?
