You are on your way to get back from lunch and up ahead there is an accident. There is no way to get around and this makes it, so you are late to class, and because of this you get a U.
This could all be avoided if lunch was just a little bit longer. There would be more time to get to places, more time to eat, more time to socialize, and more time to get back to school safely. With this extra time everything would work out more smoothly and everyone’s needs would be met to make the rest of the school day better.
“If we had more time at lunch students would be able to take that time to relax and recuperate without the stress of getting back to school on time for the next class. Driving takes most of lunch so we would also be able to have more time to eat without worrying as much about what time we have to leave so we have enough driving time to get back to the school.” senior, Darby Banks, said.
People should take 20-30 minutes to eat lunch, faster eaters tend to overeat because they don’t get the signals sent to their brain to tell them they’re full. So, people who are rushed to eat, like people who drive to get lunch, tend to not feel their best for the rest of the day affecting their schoolwork. With more time to eat it gives more time to socialize with people, which is a lot of people’s favorite part of their day. Giving their brains a break, having fun and not thinking about schoolwork.
“I would enjoy my time a little bit more, and be less stressed, actually eat my whole lunch, and actually have time to catch up with friends.” sophomore Elizabeth Funk, said.
With that extra time, you will have time to go get food, have the right amount of time to eat, and time to safely get back to school. This also gives people who stay at school more time to socialize, eat lunch and feel ready to start doing work again.
“They expect us to leave and all get back at the same time… it’s not possible… Getting around station is hard with all of the traffic, and sometimes accidents happen.” sophomore Elizabeth Funk, said.
