Christmas is almost here and so many people are excited, as it is one of the most celebrated holidays of the entire year. Not only do people enjoy this jolly holiday and get into their festive spirit but there are so many great activities that families love to do.
Things can get hectic at Christmas; this can include the airport since family members and friends are flying over to celebrate with others, or even stores can get busy because people are trying to get gifts for their children or others. Other than gifts, everyone does different things to celebrate the holidays, and they all have amazing characteristics.
“We make gingerbread houses, we go sledding, we go see the Layton lights, and we have a Christmas party with both of our grandparents.” sophomore Clark Jacobs said.
Because Christmas is celebrated by so many people, there are way more traditions for Christmas compared to any other holiday such as Halloween or Easter.
In my opinion, Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. This is because so many people are in a good mood and the weather is my favorite. Typically, Utah always gets lots of snow, in fact, Utah got the most snow it has ever seen last year 2022-2023 at Alta-Ski-Area. This amount of snowfall makes sense as we are holding the future 2034 Winter Olympic games here in Salt Lake City.
“I do like snow because it’s so fun, you can chuck snowballs at people and go sledding” stated by sophomore Clark Jacobs
I could go on all day talking about how Christmas is an amazing holiday, but to be honest I am a little biased. Christmas is a globally celebrated holiday with seasonal and even religious significance which is why it is so special for millions of people. After Christmas, many people can look forward to the New Year. We hope Farmington students can have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
