Revenge of the Sith is one of every boys favorite movie, and for good reason. This film is not only visually stunning but shocking in its storytelling as well. Revenge of the Sith is ranked very honorably among my favorite films even though it is not nearly as experimental as other films I hold in such regard. There are a couple of reasons that I love this movie but the two main reasons I will cover in this review are the storytelling and ambience.
The first reason that I love this movie is its storytelling ability. This film is the third installment of the star wars prequels and it took 11 years to set up this perfect story. Throughout the film we follow our protagonist Anakin Skywalker through physical and emotional hardship until he breaks, becoming the evil Darth Vader that we all know and love. George Lucas’ way of conveying the evil antagonists story is absolutely masterful and check all the boxes for me.
The second reason that I love this movie is the ambience. At any point in this film you can pause and take on the incredible landscapes or locations in this movie. With not one of them disappointing with production value. The amount of detail that also went into the music with John Williams at the helm is remarkable. Every scene filled with sound that could be found in a Mozart ballad. Overall George Lucas’ vision for this film visually and sonically could never be matched by the likes of anyone else.
Whether you’re a first time star wars viewer or a seasoned vet, this movie will never get old. Its atmosphere and storytelling are top tier and will likely never be matched in the star wars verse ever again. I rate Star Wars Revenge of the Sith an A.
