When comparing cats and dogs you can see that there are many different traits that make dogs better than cats. Dogs make connections with their owners and the people in their life which brings a built in best friend with an unbreakable bond that makes them a best friend and the best pet. 

“Dogs are better because they are super sweet and will cuddle with you and follow you around to protect you,” sophomore Cora Banks, said. 

Dogs are a best friend that gets you like no one else can. They have the ability to sense someone’s emotions and tell what they need. They bring light and playfulness when someone is sad and comfort and warmth when someone is needing it. 

“Cats will stay by themselves and slightly judge you every time you get close to them,” sophomore Cora Banks, said. 

Cats tend to be more independent and don’t like to do the things that dogs do. They are more low maintenance and like to be left alone most of the time, only coming out when they are getting something like food or a treat, even then they don’t interact with people that much. Which makes dogs the better option for a pet. 

“Dogs are way cuter and less dangerous overall. Cats will scratch and bite you for fun while dogs will play with you and protect you from others,” sophomore Cora Banks, said. 

Even though dogs still bite and scratch you, they do it in a playful way, and dogs can be trained easier which teaches them to not bite and scratch you. Cats just scratch you when they are annoyed and have no real purpose to do it, and there is no way to stop this because it is harder to train a cat. 

Overall, if you are looking for a pet, a dog is the better option, they are like a built-in best friend that gets you like no other. They bring warmth and light into your life and are the perfect thing to play with when you need a break. They are also cuter.
