The Twilight Saga, a cultural phenomenon that captivated millions, introduces audiences to a love triangle that has sparked countless debates. The vampire, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattenson), versus the werewolf, Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Their contrasting lifestyles and personalities present a choice for the protagonist, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewert). In this passage, we will explore their qualities, motivations, and decide who is truly the better man for Bella.
When Bella moves to Forks, Washington to live with her dad, she immediately meets Jacob. Bella doesn’t think much about their encounters due to her obsession with Edward.
When Bella meets Edward, she is immediately captivated by his mysterious persona and his obvious obsession with her. She wants nothing more than to figure him out. She later finds out that he is, in fact, a vampire. That doesn’t scare her, in fact, it furthers her hyper fixation on him. Their love for each other is undeniable. For Bella, she sees it as dangerous and passionate.
Jacob ,on the other hand’s, whole purpose is to protect Bella from the dangerous life of the vampires. He is a werewolf, and the vampires and werewolves’ rivalry go back centuries. Jacob was there for Bella when Edward wasn’t, and there is no doubt that Jacob really loves Bella.
Bella is left with a choice. The dangerous, epic, and rebellious life with the vampire Edward, or the safe and easy life with the werewolf Jacob. Watching the movies, and reading the books, it is pretty obvious that Bella and Edwards’ love is stronger.
In my opinion, Edward is meant for Bella. He would do anything for her, and he simply could not live without her.
Bella does end up with Edward, and I think that is perfect. Jacob can not always control his anger, and that completely gets in the way. Not to mention he imprinted on Bella and Edward’s daughter, which is completely weird.
With all of this information I think the author, Stephanie Meyers, made the right decision by having Bella end up with the vampire Edward.
