Little Women follows the story of four sisters Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy as they go through life’s ups and downs. All four sisters represent completely different personalities, so as much as they all love each other they have their arguments, especially with Jo and Amy. It is Jo’s dream to be a writer but unfortunately in 19th century Massachusetts that is a male dominated field making it extremely hard for women to even get an opportunity.
The main cast includes Saoirse Ronan (Jo), Florence Pugh (Amy), Timothee Chalamet (Laurie) and Emma Watson (Meg). All of these actors do an amazing job at portraying their different personalities. They make you laugh, and cry. To actors who really stood out to me were Saoirse Ronan (Jo) and Florence Pugh (Amy), both of them performed amazing monologues that brought tears in my eyes about what it’s like to be a woman,
Jo’s character represents a girl who wants to make her mark on the world, Meg character is a girl whose dream is to fall in love and start a family, Amy is a stubborn girl who has many dreams but feels forced to do what society expects of her, while Beth is a girl who likes to keep to herself and is comfortable staying at home and doing what she want to do.
Growing up with only sisters, this movie means a lot to me. This movie’s portrayal of what it’s like to grow up with just sisters. From their arguments and fights to their moments of love it did a perfect job.
With an amazing cast and portrayal of this famous story this movie is in my top 5. I love movies where I feel so many different emotions and this is a great example of that. I will always recommend this movie to people, especially girls. Little Women is the perfect story about family, sisters, love, loss, and many more.
