At Farmington High, there’s various classes and new experiences to try out and see what suits you, from reading books or drawing and sculpture, to track, football, and wrestling.
At this time, as we are just starting off on our second term, let’s look at one of the many classes you can take here at Farmington High, jewelry.
Jewelry is an amazing class in school that sparks student’s creative sides. Making jewelry can be a way for many to express themselves and how they want to be seen. It’s a great way to show the different styles of jewelry students at Farmington High can make and the awesome work that goes into the details of every piece, leading many to sign up for the class.
“I chose to take jewelry because I thought it would be fun to be able to create my own unique pieces, and because I have always loved to make bracelets when I was little so I thought it would be cool to make different things,” Sophomore Lucy Kettle said.
Jewelry is tiny sculptures most people wear today. It lets you design and craft special pieces of art that have its own meaning and a reflection of your own personal style. Past the personal and great benefits, jewelry makes you learn about different materials, techniques, and cultural traditions.
There are several reasons students should take jewelry. Students should take it for good social interactions, being more open minded with the creative world and people in the class. Students should also be able to feel more free to come out with their own ideas and creative ways for new designs, in jewelry class.
It is an amazing hobby to go on with your own creativity and make new designs everyday. Jewelry class combines creativity, skill-building, personal and cultural exploration.
