Shaquille O’neal is widely known as one of the most dominant players in the history of basketball. Shaquille O’neal was born on March 6, 1972, in Newark, New Jersey. Shaq’s basketball career began in high school where he quickly became a standout player. He attended Louisiana State University to play basketball for 3 years. He was the first overall pick in the 1992 NBA draft by Orlando Magic.

Shaq’s rookie season was big for him. He quickly made a name for himself as one of the most dominant players. Shaq averaged 23.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game. He was named NBA rookie of the year. Shaq had more impressive seasons and in 1995 he led the Magic to the NBA Finals, where they beat the Houston Rockets. In1996, he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent, where he played with Kobe Bryant. This duo went on to win Three consecutive NBA Championships and all three times Shaq received NBA Championship MVP.

Off the court, Shaq was known for his outgoing personality and fun sense of humor. Shaq now appears on television shows and movies. Shaq is a very successful businessman, his net worth is estimated to be over $400 million. He owns several restaurants, investing in new technology, and working as a NBA analyst. Shaq is known for being a big spender and being very generous. Shaq came from an impoverished background so he decided to help out common people whenever he can. He has been known for giving large amounts of tips to servers. He has made many donations to charities including boys and girls clubs, communities in schools, and does Shaq-A-Claus every year where he donates toys at Christmas for kids in need.
