Mike Tyson known as Iron Mike is one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time. At just 20 years of age Tyson became the youngest heavyweight champion in history. Mike Tyson was known for his ferocious punching power, lightning fast hand speed, and intimidating presence inside the ring.

Mike Tyson’s rise to fame was spectacular. He had a difficult childhood and was getting in trouble often. Tyson said in a podcast that his bully had killed one of his pigeons with his bare hands. ‘’ The guy ripped the head off my pigeon. This was the first thing I ever loved in my life.” That was the first time Tyson threw a punch. Bobby Stewart, a juvenile detention center counselor and former boxer, found Mike to be an outstanding fighter and trained him for a few months. Then Tyson trained with D’Amato and he trained him with fierce intensity that would become Tyson’s trademark style.

In 1985, Tyson made his professional debut and quickly became a threat. He fought 13 times and recorded 11 knockouts and became heavyweight champion. In 1986, Mike Tyson had the greatest, most dominant, most explosive year of any heavyweight in boxing history. Over the next few years he dominated the heavyweight division. He defended his title against a number of challengers. In 1992 Tyson was convicted of tape and sentenced to six years in prison, but was released after three years. After being released Tyson came back stronger than ever and dominated. Crew Frost senior at Farmington High School said, “ Mike Tyson is a beast and very strong athlete and dominated any oppented that came his way.”

Tyson has made headlines for his various business ventures. He has started a podcast and cannabis business. Mike Tyson is a legend in the boxing world and he will be remembered as one of the scariest heavyweight opponents.
