The performing arts program has been ambitiously growing since the opening of Farmington High School. These programs have encouraged students to grow and find their talents while building the legacy of Farmington High.
Performing arts include band, choir, dance, color guard, and theater. There are a multitude of different levels and classes within these categories that allow students to proceed on a path that fits them best. These classes not only teach the skills and knowledge necessary for the art, they also encourage students to get to know people with similar interests.
“I think my favorite part of the band is probably either the social aspect I get out of it or the actual music I experience.” Senior, Kay V, says.
The skills gained from the performing art classes here at Farmington High are skills that will enable our students for success in careers, relationships, and life goals.
“I feel like it’s taught me a lot about how to work with people and how to take things and learn them quickly.” Senior, Alayna Warby, says.
These students build our legacy by inspiring students around them. We asked students what inspires them about the performing art students. “I think the dedication and the hard work that the students put in, because they have their daily classes and they also put so much effort into perfecting their performances.
Farmington High’s Legacy is constantly being built and changed by the students who move through its walls. The students involved in the program share how they have grown confidence and individuality through their participation.
The Performing Arts programs set their students up for success by encouraging ambition, creativity, and expression. The students will always be the Legacy of Farmington High and we are ecstatic to say these characteristics are a part of our legacy.
