Which Club Should You Join?

Nothing is better than coming home from a long day of school, getting a snack and chilling on the couch. But after a couple of hours, that can get old, and the day feels wasted away. That is one reason school clubs are great. They give you something to do after school that is enjoyable and meaningful. Clubs provide a space to make friends that have common interests like you and learn more about topics you love! Clubs also look great on college applications and can help you earn scholarships. If you are looking for a club to join, here are some tips on how to find one that best suits you.

On Farmington High School’s website under activities there is a club tab. Click on that and you can see a list of all the clubs the high school offers. Look through the clubs and make a list of the ones that interest you. The list should also include the names of the teacher advisors of each club. You can email each teacher and find out when the club meets and where. Then go attend! After you attend each club, you can choose which ones you would like to stay in.

“Clubs are an excellent way to get involved with the school and be able to express yourself with people who have similar interests as you. They also look great on college applications,” senior Kennedi Johnson said.

“I like clubs because they get students involved and help them have a better high school experience. They can also be given an opportunity depending on the club they are in,” senior Mya Lindsay said.

All in all, joining a school club will benefit you in so many ways! You can create so many new friendships, learn new skills, create new opportunities and build up your resume for the future! Come join a club!
