Distance Team Helps Answer a Promposal

The Track and Field’s Distance team is getting ready to start their season. To warm up and practice for their upcoming season, the Distance team is helping Caroline Torman answer a promposal in a very unique way.

Caroline Torman, who is a senior here at Farmington High, decided to answer a promposal in a very unique way. She decided to ask the Distance team to run a “Yes” In downtown Farmington. After the Distance team ran, her prom date opened a running app called Strava to see the route the Distance team ran, and revealed Caroline’s answer.

“I decided to do this because I was thinking about what he likes. We’re both on the track team so I knew he runs every day. I saw some guy make a route that spelled prom on the news a couple months ago so it’s been in the back of my head. I was going to run it myself, but because he is a member of the distance team, I thought he’d have more fun if he did it!” senior, Caroline Torman, said.

After hours of planning this unique answer, it was finally time for the Distance team to run. After running eight miles, they headed back to the school to see Caroline’s answer.

“I think it was successful! The whole distance team ran the route and he was clueless almost the whole time. There was a big message that said to check his Strava when he got back. You could clearly see it spelled yes, and we all had doughnuts and chocolate milk back at the school! It was so fun!” Torman said.

The Distance team was more than happy to help Caroline with her plan. James Oliver, who is a member of the Distance team, was thrilled to help execute Caroline’s plan.

“I loved it. I thought that it was an excellent idea. I think that if it happened to me, it would be a fun feeling and so I thought it was an awesome way to respond. Running straight to the mountain and trying to get as much elevation as we can is my favorite way to train, but I really enjoyed this unique practice for the Distance team,” senior, James Oliver, said.

This awesome team is very close, and they loved being able to help Caroline Torman by doing this fun practice.

“All of the people I’m with and all of the relationships I’ve formed is my favorite part about being on the Distance team. It’s a lot of fun to go work out with people who are like your best friends,” senior, Jake Anderson, said.

After a successful day for both Caroline and the Distance team, we can all agree this was a unique way to answer a promposal and get some extra practice in for the Track and Fields Distance Team.
