Farmington High has an underrated cheerleading team. The cheerleaders here work very hard to bring home national awards and school spirit at all of the games.

Kennedy and Abby give us a behind the scenes look into what being a cheerleader is like.

“Behind the scenes of cheer we’re kind of crazy, like we are always high energy, we’re always working we never stop, we are always moving forward,” sophomore, Kennedy M, said.

“Some things that people don’t notice with cheerleading is how much we practice. We practice a lot almost everyday. We also cheer a lot. We cheer usually at two to three games a week, so we are doing a lot,” captain, Abby F, said.

While constantly attending all of the school sporting events, the cheerleaders attend competitions where they compete against other schools, both local and national. This year our phabulous Phoenix cheer team competed at Nationals and even went to Disneyland. After spending some time at the happiest place on earth and getting a total of twelve hours of sleep during the entire trip, the cheerleaders came home as national champions.

“Nationals went very well, we had a lot of fun! We won two national titles, so expect large trophies in our trophy case coming soon,” Team Captain, Lola L, said.

After spending hours together every day, the bond the cheerleaders have is like no other.

“My favorite part of being a cheerleader is all of the girls because I love them all so much and we are always spending so much time together. I love being able to do something I love while being active,” Sophomore, Kennedy M, said.

“We have 32 girls this year so its like I have 32 best friends built into my life each day” Team Captain, Lola L, said.

Farmington High’s Cheer Team is seriously awesome. Big congratulations to the team for bringing home two National Titles.
