2022 was a very memorable year when it came to albums. We got albums from artists that hadn’t come out with anything in years like Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar, and albums from new, but still top-rated artists like Steve Lacy and Omar Apollo. Billboard’s Top 100 came out with a list of what they thought the best albums of 2022 was, so let’s look at the top 5 rated albums.

Coming out on March 18, 2022, this is Rosalía’s third studio album. Rosalía is a Pop/R&B genre singer focusing her music on English and Spanish lyrics. With this album Rosalía has been able to gain over 1 Billion streams on Spotify alone, making her the first female Spanish artist to do so in history.

4.   Kendrick Lamar, “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers”

Coming out on May 13, 2022, this is Kendrick’s fifth studio album. Kendrick is an American rapper known for his progressive musical styles. His album introduces 19 tracks with a time length of 1 hour and 18 minutes, with his most popular track being “Mother I Sober”. With this album, Kendrick was able to gain 1.4 Billion Streams on Spotify.

3.   Taylor Swift, “Midnights”

Coming out on October 21, 2022, this is Taylor’s tenth studio album. Taylor is an American Pop and Country singer/songwriter. With this album, Taylor was able to gain 184.6 million streams within the first 24 hours on Spotify setting a new record.
