With Spring Break over and Prom next weekend, we are coming to the end of our school year. For seniors, we are done. Done with sports games that we have supported our life long friends in, school dances, going to In N Out with the whole Davis School District, and even how sad it is we are done with Maps class and Summit. With High School ending, we as seniors have some really big choices to make between college, sports, missions, jobs, etc.

Some Farmington High students were asked what their plans were after high school.

“I am going on a LDS mission. I got my call last week and got called to the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West mission, Speaking Spanish and I leave August 7th.” Senior Zach Quinton, said.

“I decided to not play soccer and attend BYU in the fall. I want to serve a mission and am planning on leaving in January.” Senior Whitney Avei, said.

A lot of senior boys and some girls are deciding to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Majority of them are getting called to South America, Europe or the United States. This is a really big step leaving everything you know for a year and a half to two years.

“My plan is to go to college and try to play basketball. I am not sure where yet or what I want to get into but if I can play, I want to play.” Senior Cole Johnson, said.

“I signed to College of Southern Idaho to play softball.” Senior Courtney Christiansen, said.

Deciding which college to go, what you want to get into, and if you want to play sports can be very difficult. Trying to choose if you want to stay in state or move away from home and not know anyone.

After Graduation, life starts to get real and it restarts somewhere different than you’re used to. Saying goodbye to people that you won’t ever see again and some you will, meeting new people and starting a whole new life somewhere without those you know and love around you. Walking down the aisle at graduation is going to be so bittersweet but a big step to take.
