The Golden State Warriors have had a historic run in the NBA over the past decade. Led by superstar players like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant, the team has been a dominant force on the court, winning multiple championships and breaking numerous records along the way. 

It all started in the 2014-2015 season, when the Warriors won their first championship in 40 years. Led by Curry, who won the NBA MVP award that season, the team went on a historic run, finishing with a record of 67-15 in the regular season and going 16-5 in the playoffs. 

“The following season, the Warriors set a new record for regular season wins, finishing with a remarkable 73-9 record.” While they ultimately fell short in the NBA Finals, losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers, their regular season performance was one for the ages. 

The Warriors bounced back in the 2016-2017 season, adding Kevin Durant to their already stacked lineup. With Curry, Thompson, Durant, and Draymond Green leading the way, the team dominated the competition, finishing with a record of 67-15 in the regular season and going 16-1 in the playoffs.  “They won their second championship in three years, and Durant was named Finals MVP.” SB Nation said,

In the years since, the Warriors have remained one of the top teams in the league, even as injuries and roster changes have challenged their dominance. With a core of Curry, Thompson, and Green, the team has continued to break records and make deep playoff runs. But this year, 2023, things might change. The Warriors are currently playing the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the NBA playoffs and have already lost the first two games making them 0-2 to start the playoffs. The Warriors have never had this bad of a start in the playoffs. Will Steph Curry be able to lead his team and make a comeback to move on? Or is this the end of an era for the Golden State Warriors?
