This year’s Dancing with the Stars finale showcased some of the most memorable, unique routines in the whole show. After ten weeks of practice and a few live performances, the top four couples returned themselves to the dance floor for a chance to win the Mirrorball Trophy.
At the performance each couple showcased two dances. A freestyle, and a redemption dance chosen by the judges. The redemption routines gave the contestants the chance to showcase their improvements.
Many of the couples showed sharper, cleaner versions of their dance. However, it was the freestyle round that left the audience in awe. The performers pushed themselves in intricate ways that amazed everyone.
The winners were Robert Irwin and Whitney Carson. A routine by Irwin honoring his late father really made them stand out from their competition. Irwin and Carson were able to deliver a beautiful, earning a perfect score.
Junior, Mia Garcia said, “I’m not a big fan of dance, but I watched the finale. It was amazing, but I wanted Alix Earl and her partner to win.”
Many would agree with Mia. Earl was notably a fan favorite, and she gave a very moving performance.
Lots of fans were upset about the judge’s decision. Claiming that Irwin and Carson only won because the judges took pity on them. But many would argue that they deserved to win.
Junior, Bella Tolman said, “The winning dance was great. I know that some people didn’t think it should’ve won, but I think it was the right decision.”
Bella described what many fans believed. The dance was truly moving. Their performance was full of emotion and delivered a powerful message with amazing technique.
Even though only one couple took home the trophy, the finale benefited everyone. They formed friendships and were able to improve as dancers.
