Chick-fil-a and Chipotle are one of America’s biggest fast food restaurants, these two are a big part of the fast food industry, not only that, there are also two of the most popular ones! From this we wanted to ask students at Farmington High what they like more and which one they would choose to go to during lunch break.
“Chick-fil-a is my jam. I would also choose that because it’s just much cheaper than Chipotle to go and eat for lunch” Sophomore Jolie Mason said.
Prices can differ when it comes to fast food restaurants, a standard chick-fil-a combo meal is in the range of $8-12, while a typical chipotle meal is around the range of $9-11 in cash, just for the bowl or burrito. This actually makes Chipotle a little more to the pricey side compared to Chick-fil-a.
Nevertheless, both are great places to go if you are both in for just a little snack or if you want to eat a full meal.
Chick-fil-a is the oldest of the two as it was founded in 1946 but was introduced to the food industry in 1964, with the restaurant out, the first ever official Chick-fil-a restaurant was first opened in 1967! Chipotle on the other hand is a much newer and modern invention that was founded in 1993, in Denver Colorado. Without hesitation, the first chipotle restaurant was opened on July 13, 1993! Fun fact, the full name of Chipotle is actually, “Chipotle Mexican grill”. Some may know that and some may not because Chipotle is mostly known for just “Chipotle”.
“I would most definitely choose Chipotle! Chipotle is my whole life and I just love it so much in general, like so much” Junior Macie West said.
As we can see, this is a hard choice between Chick-fil-a and Chipotle! Both have their own different benefits and sometimes those benefits just sit better with one person and not another. It’s fun to hear about the opinions that there are about these restaurants but we are glad that the students at Farmington High are happy to share their thoughts with us at Nix News!
Now for some random facts about the two incredible restaurants!
Chick-fil-a is a family owned business and they are not planning on making it a public company either, and the chicken served at chick-fil-a is also 100% breast meat with no fillers or additives. So now that we know a little history about Chick-fil-a, let’s hear from Chipotle and their highlights!
Chipotle is known for their custom menu, where you get to pick what you want from there and not only that the name “Chipotle” comes from a Nahuatl word “chilpoctli”, actually kind of spelled the same too. The word means “smoked chili pepper” and that is why the chipotle signature is just that!
