In 1920, Frederick R. Barnard said, “A picture is worth a thousand words”.
Photography is a growing art that has captured millions of people worldwide. Photography is something that can inform, inspire, and illustrate. It can be found anywhere in the world from grocery stores to sports games; anywhere there is advertising, information, or art.
One of the best things that photography is used for is for teaching. Pictures can help explain things that cannot be explained with words.
Photography is important in education because it can better students’ understanding of a topic they’re learning about.
“Pictures help me in school because they help show me what I am learning and make it so I can easily visualize and understand it,” says sophomore Londyn Arnold.
Photography can also really impact students as it helps them throughout their education.
“I think that photography and pictures in learning are one of the main things that have gotten me this far in my education,” says sophomore Raegan Wheeler.
Photography doesn’t just help students learn though, it can also help people in other things. Sports teams frequently hire photographers to capture the special moments that will last forever. Family photos help people remember their childhood and how they’ve grown, and wedding photographers create physical memories that will last a lifetime.
Overall, photography is something that is artistic, useful, and exciting. It is a universal language that teaches and inspires.
