There are many options for animals you can have, the most popular ones are cats and dogs. Cats and dogs have always been in competition on which one is better so, lets see what the students at Farmington high school think.

Dogs are a very common great pet to have. Students at Farmington are very enthusiastic about their dogs and that they are better than cats. Dogs are obedient, loving, fun and energetic pets to have, depending on the dog you get, here are some of the students at Farmington’s dogs. 

 “I have a long hair golden retriever named Bear, he is so sweet, then I have a black lab named Gizmo and then I have a Dobermann named Keenie.” Sophomore Scarlet Peery said.

Another popular pet people have is cats, maybe even more than dogs. Some students at Farmington high school are saying that they think cats are better than dogs because they are easier to take care of.

“Cats need less attention and they like their alone time and don’t need to be pet all of the time.” Sophomore Scarlet Peery said.

We had a pull on if cats are better than dogs or dogs are better than cats. With who voted, the answer by over half is dogs are better. Dogs are the ones known for being “man’s best friend” and some people wanted to defend dogs after the last comment about cats.

“Dogs are much better than cats because cats can be rude and they only like people because you feed them, yeah they are cute but dogs love people and need us why wouldn’t you want a pet that needs and loves you and depends on you rather than just a pet that likes you because you feed them but can take care of themselves.” says Wade Walker a junior at Farmington high. 

Even though overall the answer is dogs, that doesn’t mean cats aren’t great. You can have any pet you would like.
