Winter break is sadly over for Farmington High School students, and everyone is already ready for the next one to come around. Breaks from school are a great time to relax, be with family and friends, and of course sleep in. Students at Farmington enjoy it, and so do the teachers.
“I did a ton of stuff. I was mostly with family and celebrated Christmas. We made fondue with both cheese and chocolate, watched Christmas movies and, of course, I slept in. I needed the sleep. On New Year’s Eve I hung out with friends and just genuinely had a great time over the whole break,” says senior Amber Kranenburg.
Many do a lot over winter break, while others just stay home and chill out the full two weeks!
“I spent time with my family, and my cousins came from Las Vegas and South Carolina. I also went to St. George with some friends. It was a pretty fun winter break,” says junior Macie West.
It seems as though most students had an awesome two-week break. Students were able to not only relax during the break, but were also given time to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s!
The 25th was Christmas day where students were able to open presents, eat tons of food, and spend quality time with loved ones. The day is often filled with giving and comfort, a very big part of winter break. Students at Farmington High School were definitely excited for Christmas. New Year’s was soon to follow, and now we are officially in the year 2026!
Over the winter break, people celebrated for the new year to come. They celebrated surrounded by family and friends and counted down as they looked up to the dark sky as it became illuminated by beautiful fireworks. They were able to look back on 2025 and look towards the new year as a year full of different experiences and chances!
We hope everyone, both students, teachers, and staff had a great time over the winter break. Welcome back!
