Motivation is basically finding energy to do something. This is a key part to succeeding in school. Some students are able to stay on task and get all of their assignments in. How do they do it? I asked a couple of them.

“Just keep swimming,”  senior Paige Roberts said.

Her strategy is to just keep going and not give up. If you keep working on your assignments eventually you will get them done. If you are always doing a little bit they won’t pile up.

“I use the sticky note app on my computer and list all the assignments I need to do. I also check canvas everyday,” senior Jessica Haviland said.

She stays organized in order to hold onto motivation. This is similar to Paige’s strategy because she is always doing a little bit.

“I don’t, and that’s the problem,” senior McKenzie Hintze said.

She is lacking quite a bit of motivation. I think most students find themselves in this situation or feeling this way. It’s so difficult to keep and maintain grades along with maintaining a healthy social life and extra curricular activities.

The issue for me is I wait until the last second and then feel too overwhelmed to find a place to start.

So what’s the solution? Don’t get too far behind and you won’t lose motivation. It’s easy to stay motivated when you just have a small amount to do everyday.
