Post-Prom+Follow+Up

After stressful planning, all-day getting ready for adventure, and a long night of partying, prom has come to an end. In my last article, I interviewed three girls from each grade here at Farmington High that planned on attending prom. I followed up with each of them post-prom to see how the excitement all went down. Here’s their stories!

“Prom was very fun. We went disco skating for our day date. For dinner, we went to Tucanos. I liked the beef tenderloin best, but I also got to eat chicken heart, so that was fun,” senior, Paige Olsen, said.

Paige went to Bountiful prom at Davis Event Center. The DJ was Mr. Pratt, her ninth grade biology teacher at Farmington Junior High and the principal is her neighbor, so she had a unique experience. After the dance, Paige’s group watched The Adam Project at her date’s house. As for her dress, Paige made a last minute dress change. The final dress choice was hot pink and she was glad about it because she thought it made her look tanner. The dress worked really well with the colors on her date’s tie, so that’s why she liked it best. Paige’s final remarks for the night were, “I would highly recommend moshing.”

Courtney Barton took pictures at the Farmington Bird Refuge. She ended up choosing a white dress because she was debating between a white or a pink dress, but decided the white was better for her liking. The pictures turned out beautifully. Courtney had dinner at an Italian restaurant. The food was good and her whole group all got pizza. The dance was the best part of the night for Courtney because she could see all her friends that weren’t in her group. Afterwards, her group went swimming and hot tubbing at a group member’s house. She was so tired after the dance, the hot tub was the most relaxing of the night.

“If I were to give advice to younger peers, I would advise them to enjoy every moment and go to as many dances as you can because they’ll be over before you know it,” junior, Courtney Barton, said.

Liv Tobler chose a light pink dress with ruffled sleeves which went so well with her date’s tie and her corsage. She had a really fun date because she has known him for years. The after party was fun because her group went to another group member’s pool and hung out for the rest of the night.

“This dance was the best dance of the year for me. My group was really fun. This dance was the best experience to get ready for. I got to get ready for it with my sister and got to experience her last dance and my first dance together with her. For me, the best moment was when the night was coming to an end and I got to take it all in for the final memory. Then all the stress from the night and heavy planning left,” sophomore, Liv Tobler, said.

It sure seems like everyone had an absolutely amazing prom experience! I loved seeing so many of the students all fancied up in one room. Although there was no moshing allowed, that didn’t stop anyone from having a blast. Thank you to everyone for all the amazing high school memories that were shared on prom night! What a great wrap up dance to end this school year!
