March Madness Inspires Mayhem and Excitement

March Madness Inspires Mayhem and Excitement

March Madness kicked off on March 19th. Several Farmington students rushed to complete their brackets for the big tournament. A perfectly filled out bracket could win a million dollars. However, in all the history of March Madness no one has ever filled out a perfect bracket.

Sixty- eight teams face off during the tournament. With so many teams and so many games going on at the same time it is nearly impossible to fill out a perfect bracket. However, watching the games and seeing the accuracy of your picks is what makes March Madness so exciting and fun for Farmington Students.

Farmington Students were asked who they wanted to win March Madness and why.

“For women’s I think Iowa is gonna win because I think Caitlin Clark is unstoppable. For men’s UNC is gonna win because I have always loved UNC for no reason,” Senior, Brecklyn Thomas said.

Caitlin Clark is the NCAA’s all-time scorer. Clark is a crowd favorite and should carry Iowa far in the Women’s March Madness tournament.

“BYU is going to win for sure because I’ve been a very big fan since day one, so I’d love to see them win it all,” Junior, Liberty Anderson said.

BYU has never won the Men’s March Madness tournament. However, anything is possible when it comes to March Madness. The BYU Cougars will face off against the Duquesne Dukes in their first-round game.

“I’d say probably Auburn will win just because their past reputation is strong. I really like them and how they’re playing this season. Of course, North Caroline could win too I think,” Senior, Hayden Collins said.

Auburn and South Caroline share similar season statistics. Both teams had thirteen wins and five losses in the Southeastern conference. These teams prove to be likely and logical picks to take it all home this March!
