Since the days of the great LaVell Edwards, BYU has not had a game with higher magnitude than this one in the Big 12 title game. This Saturday, BYU will face off against 4th ranked Texas Tech in Arlington, Texas. They are currently ranked 11th in college football and are projected to be the first team out of the playoffs. Saturday will be BYU’s biggest test to see if they are a true playoff team as they face the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Big 12 Championship.
A little over a month ago, BYU traveled to Lubbock to face off against Texas Tech where they were absolutely dominated by the Red Raiders 29-7. In the game, BYU was held scoreless until the 4th quarter. Some believe BYU will have a chip on their shoulder and prove everyone wrong.
“BYU has not had a game this big, maybe ever. We have the chance to make the college football playoff with this win. I think we will shock the world and upset Texas Tech in the Big 12 Championship,” says senior Skyler Petersen.
BYU’s freshman quarterback, Bear Bachmeier, will try to continue his historical season with a win this Saturday. With a win in the big game, BYU would make the 12-team playoff and cement themselves as a top college football program in the nation.
Will BYU be able to pull off this incredible upset?
