For years the Dallas Cowboys have garnered just enough excitement every year to give their fans hope then all of a sudden everything seems to come down at once leaving cowboys fans with nothing. This NFL season was more of the same.
During the offseason, Jerry Jones traded their best defender for Kenny Clark and two first round picks. It was devastating to see Micah Parsons and it felt like a weird move because after picking up George Pickens made it seem like they were going to try and make a run this year. Now left without any stars on defense the season already seemed over.
They got off to a rocky 3-5-1 start where their offense was playing extremely well on every front producing the best offense in the NFL, but were pulled down by the worst defense in the NFL. At the trade deadline mood shifted heavily as the Cowboys traded for LB Logan Wilson, and all pro DT Quinnen Williams. They immediately won three straight then lost to the powerhouse lions hope still could not be higher.
It was week 15, the Dallas Cowboys are 6-6-1 and only 1.5 games behind the stumbling Eagles. Fans around the world are ready for a miraculous comeback season and it is looking possible.
“I think we can really win out and I do not have any faith in the Eagles so who knows?” said Sophomore Scott Jepsen.
The struggling Vikings team looked entirely different than they had all season in the first half keeping it tied at 17-17. Coming back out the Cowboys had to change things up to keep their season alive but they had no answer for J.J. McCarthy and the Vikings who ultimately beat them 34-26 after two missed field goals by the most respected kicker in the league.
“A great kicker who had one disappointing game that sadly may have brought our season to an end.” Junior Andy Davis said.
This loss puts the cowboys at less than a one percent chance to even make the playoffs.
