Best MCU Movie Since Endgame

Ethan Stanford

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was released on May 5th and was instantly a smashing hit in theaters worldwide. However, I was skeptical heading into this movie since I wasn’t a huge fan of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. I wasn’t impressed by the most recent MCU films that have also been coming out. For instance, I think the last MCU film to hit theaters wasn’t outstanding: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania. So, in hindsight, my expectations were shallow, to say the least, when I went to see this new installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.

But I couldn’t have been more overjoyed and satisfied with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It was a fantastic, enjoyable film that completely surpassed my expectations of what I hoped to see. There were specific points in the movie that made me feel and care for our protagonists and especially made me dislike the antagonist. It’s definitely one of my favorite MCU movies that I’ve ever seen. It has been my favorite film ever since the release of Avengers: Endgame in 2019.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was one of, if not the best, Marvel movie. James Gunn made us feel attached and empathize with characters we hadn’t met yet. While also maintaining the lighthearted spirit you can find in the other Guardian movies. All in all, it was a movie you can count on me watching again in theaters,” senior Jordan Stowell said.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was better than the second movie in the series. I believe it isn’t as good as the first movie, but I had good laughs throughout it. The plot was lacking a bit, but it was backed up throughout with comedy, but I wasn’t as drawn in as I was for similar Marvel movies like Thor Ragnarök. Overall, the movie was a big step forward for Marvel and future movies,” senior Tayden Prisco said.

Overall, I recommend this movie to anyone interested in Marvel who needs a fresh change in the cinematic experience.
