The Golden State Warriors may have played their last game with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Steve Kerr together. Just a decade ago the warriors looked like the best team in NBA history. The Warriors in 2015-16 set the NBA record for wins in a season they went 73-9 in that season.
The Warriors won 4 championships from 2015-2022. All of the success goes to their iconic trio Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green and head coach Steve Kerr. The Warriors revolutionized the game of basketball with the 3-point shot having two of the best shooters in NBA history, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
In 2015 the Warriors won their first championship in 40 years beating the Cavaliers 4-2. The Warriors would continue their dominance the next season by having the best regular season in NBA history, but ultimately came short in the finals 4-3 by LeBron James and the Cavaliers.
The warriors the next season made one of the best signings in NBA history by signing superstar Kevin Durant this would be the last piece to their super team. They would dominate the regular season going 67-15 and having an even more dominant record breaking post-season going 16-1. This was the best record in NBA playoff history. To finish their incredible post-season they again beat LeBron James and the Cavaliers 4-1.
To continue their historic dynasty they had an impressive regular season going 58-24 record. For the second year in a row the Warriors sent four players to the all-star game sending Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Kevin Durant. That post season the Warriors broke another post season record winning 15 straight home playoff games.
However the Warriors looked like their dynasty would be over the next season with a 2-4 Loss in the finals to the Raptors. In this series the Warriors lost Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant to devastating injuries. That would be Kevin Durant’s last game in a warriors uniform. Later that off-season Kevin Durant would leave to sign with the Brooklyn Nets.
Over the next couple of seasons the warriors had lots of injuries coming short to success. The warriors were not healthy until 2021-22 they had a 53-29 regular season record. This was their first season with Klay Thompson in 941 days with back to back injuries. That season Stephen Curry broke the all-time 3-point record, also having elite breakout seasons with Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins. The Warriors were able to win their 4th championship in 8 years that year beating the Celtics 4-2 in the finals. Stephen Curry won his first finals MVP.
The Warriors lost last week in the play-in game and Head Coach Steve Kerr said this in their team huddle “I don’t know what’s gonna happen next, but I love you guys to death. Thank you, I appreciate you,” said Kerr in the huddle.
Is this the end of the Warriors dynasty?
